Cultural consensus theory for two-dimensional location judgments

چکیده
Cultural consensus theory is a model-based approach for analyzing responses of informants when correct answers are unknown. The model provides aggregate estimates the latent knowledge at group level while accounting heterogeneity in informant competence and item difficulty. We develop new version cultural two-dimensional continuous judgments which obtained asking to locate set unknown sites on geographic map. fitted using hierarchical Bayesian modeling. A simulation study shows satisfactory parameter recovery realistic numbers items. also assess accuracy location by comparing against simply computing unweighted average informants’ judgments. that, due weighing inferred informants, more accurate than averaging. showed higher an empirical individuals judged 57 European cities maps.

Study of Cultural Impacts on Location Judgments in Eastern China
This paper examined cultural impacts on absolute and relative location estimates of 12 Eastern Chinese cities, based on questionnaires of each city’s latitude and distances between city pairs. Linear regression analysis of the latitude estimates revealed that the estimated latitude of a city is statistically significantly related to its actual latitude. MDS analysis of the distance estimates re...

OF THE DISSERTATION Cultural Consensus Theory on Network Structures By Kalin Alak Agrawal Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical Behavioral Sciences University of California, Irvine, 2015 Professor William H. متن کاملFlexCCT: Software for Maximum Likelihood Cultural Consensus Theory
In this paper, we describe a software package called FlexCCT for analyzing numerical ratings data. FlexCCT is implemented in MATLAB and incorporates a range of different cultural consensus theory (CCT) models. We describe the standalone GUI version of FlexCCT. We give an illustrative example, showing how FlexCCT can be used to analyze and interpret essay rating data.

In this paper, a two-dimensional multi-wavelet is constructed in terms of Chebyshev polynomials. The constructed multi-wavelet is an orthonormal basis for space. By discretizing two-dimensional Fredholm integral equation reduce to a algebraic system. The obtained system is solved by the Galerkin method in the subspace of by using two-dimensional multi-wavelet bases. Because the bases of subs...
متن کاملTwo Dimensional Basketball Localization and Location Prediction
In two dimensions, we accurately predicted the trajectory of a basketball using approximately ten images each taken less taken less than three tenths of a second after a shooter a free throw. Our trajectory predictions were made using automatically stabilized handheld video footage of a shooter releasing a free throw. Although we used only the first few images of the shooter releasing the baske...
